story
I have delighted in playing house for as long as I can remember. As a little girl, it was Barbie’s penthouse with all its fab furnishing potential that dazzled my imagination far more than her blonde locks or faux furs. So, on past the dollhouse days and full of zeal and good intention, I embarked on a career in Interior Design.
But many years, an Interior Design degree, and 3.2 corporate design sales jobs later, I found myself on the wrong side of the creative fence. If you’ve ever been on the wrong side of the fence, it’s a cold and lonely place to be. And I couldn’t get away with tinkering in that penthouse anymore.
However, I began to notice a hopeful pattern. The pattern was one of indulging my creative fancies in the homes of family and friends eager for my input on design. From paint color consultations to reinventing stale space to home organizing for efficiency, each project brought a fresh spring to my step. And the smiles of pleasure and thanks were far more gratifying than Barbie’s half-hearted plastic grin.
So I became hooked. Hooked on helping people fall back in love with their homes. Nuts over renewing living or work space on any kind of budget. Crazy about coaching my clients on how to bring their creative vision to life, and watching them see it through.
Thus a tale of lifelong passion, vision, and training was woven into Nest. And I haven’t looked back across that fence ever since.
